On the Streets Again

As most of you are aware, we count the core of our mission to street kids to be on the streets where we find the kids.  So our Team continues to go out each day to find the new kids, to surface the ones who fit our profile to come and live with us, and to develop friendships and introduce them to Jesus.  Here is another account of one outing:

"We got to Globe Base (it is at a big roundabout at the old Globe Theatre next to downtown Nairobi) around 11:55 am and stayed for half an hour. There were six of us and 12 young boys, though two were asleep. We did introductions and then started to encourage them with the word of God. The boys were very attentive and respectful even though we had to ask two of them to put their "kamsii" (jet fuel, n.b. this concoction the guys on the streets are huffing now concerns our Team, as it makes the kids less aware of their surroundings) away. James and Byron requested them to come for Monday and Tuesday programs where they can get a chance to really learn more about God and maybe even an opportunity to join our boarding program. As we were talking on the other side of the Nairobi River, two other boys were sleeping and a big tractor came to pour stone on the valley. The boys were woken up and they came to join us. After our prayer, we bought them some lunch and moved on to the next base. It continues to amaze us how God leads us to new souls with loads of possibilities. Our thanks to all of you who pray for the boys and girls in the streets and at Kamulu.
